Major stock market indexes in the Asia-Pacific region traded mostly higher on Monday ahead of economic reports scheduled for the rest of the week, including those on Japan’s inflation and employment, and China’s manufacturing sector.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 advanced by 0.29% or 112 points at 4:35 am CET as the dollar lost 0.18% to the yen to sell for ¥156.7130 at 4:52 am CET. South Korea’s Kospi gained 0.59% at 4:52 am CET. At that time, Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 grew by 0.71%.
In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite rose by 0.29% at 4:38 am CET. However, the Shenzhen Composite decreased by 0.51%. In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng went up by 0.12% at 4:54 am CET.
