Crude oil inventories in the United States fell by 5.21 million barrels in the week that ended January 5, private data from the American Petroleum Institute (API) allegedly showed on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, reserves in Cushing, Oklahoma, allegedly declined by 625,000 barrels. Gasoline stockpiles increased by 4.89 million barrels, while distillate inventories rose by 6.87 million barrels, according to the reported data.
