Major stock markets in the United States closed Wednesday’s session mostly lower as Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 indexes closed in the red territory dragged by a sell-off of tech companies. Within both indexes, players like Micron Technology, Nvidia, Meta, Broadcom, Qualcomm, Advanced Micro Devices, and ASML were some of the firms on the list with major falls.
The Nasdaq 100 dived 2.94% as ASML Holding NV tumbled 12.56%. The S&P 500 lost 1.39% with Vistra Corp plummeting 11.26%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average index gained 0.59% or 243 points with UnitedHealth Group Inc gaining 4.47%.
The euro was 0.34% higher against the dollar at 3:58 pm ET, to sell for $1.09364.
