Major European stock exchanges opened the Monday session trading mixed as investors braced for a new batch of economic releases. Throughout the week, reports on consumer inflation from Europe’s largest economy, Germany, as well as the world’s leading economy, the United States, will be unveiled.
The Euro Stoxx 50 was flat at the open. The DAX started the session with a 0.11% gain, as Rheinmetall added 1.27% at 9:02 am CET. The CAC 40 declined 0.09% at the opening bell, with Sanofi down 2.79% at 9:03 am CET. The FTSE 100 dipped 0.11% at 9:00 am CET, as Bae Systems fell 1.47% at 9:03 am CET.
The euro and the pound hovered around the flatline against the dollar at 8:59 am CET, changing hands for 1.07690 and 1.25241, respectively.
