Major stock markets in Europe closed with gains on Tuesday following a batch of earning releases and economic data across the continent. Ferrari, BP, UniCredit and UBS fed the day with their figures from their correspondent quarters. Meanwhile, the German surplus and retail sales in the European Union rose in March, as did construction activity in April in the United Kingdom.
The FTSE 100 closed increasing 1.22% as Dcc PLC jumped 4.55%. The DAX gained 1.43% and the EURO STOXX 50 closed climbing 1.14% with Infineon soaring 12.93% within both indexes. The CAC 40 increased 0.99% as Essilorluxottica led the gains with 3.23% up.
The euro was 0.06% higher than the dollar at 5:29 pm CET, trading at 1.07758. The pound was 0.16% down compared to the US currency, going to 1.25424.
